Siamese Twin's Trail - Garden of the God's, Colorado Springs, CO.

I love seeing live music and like to see concerts at different venues whenever I have an opportunity. When I saw my favorite band Paramore had listed their tour 5 dates, I immediately looked to see if there were any near me. I try to see them as much as I can, which means usually just seeing them in my hometown. However, this time, I saw their last concert date was scheduled to be at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre on July 24th. I jumped up and down with excitement because I felt like the stars had aligned. I have always dreamt of seeing a show at Red Rocks and seeing my favorite band there would be a dream come true. This would be my 5th time seeing them in the 4th city. I immediately purchased tickets and started planning my first trip to Denver. I found an affordable flight through Allegiant to DEN from CVG for 7/24/18-7/26/18, I rented a car through Budget which had the cheapest rate for my stay, and reserved an Airbnb in Golden, CO that was about 15 minutes away from Red Rocks. It was about 40 minutes from the airport but I wanted to be able to have a cheap Uber ride from the Airbnb to the concert. It was going to be a quick trip so I wanted to make sure I planned out exactly what I wanted to see in this short time frame. In addition to live music, my next two favorite things are hiking and great local food. Since I had an early arrival on the day of the concert, I knew I wanted to start off by checking out Voodoo doughnuts. I went to the location on Colfax Ave. I arrived there around 9 am and to my surprise, there was no line like I had expected. I had seen Voodoo on TV when I was younger and their unique doughnut options always sparked my interest. I got half a dozen because I couldn't go to Voodoo and just get one! (I shared too, don't worry!)

After Voodoo, I headed to the Denver Biscuit Company for brunch. I highly recommend going here during your visit to Denver. The service was wonderful and the food was to die for. Their motto is, "Real Southern, Real Good." If I ever get the chance to visit CO again, I would definitely eat here again.

At this point, I was ready for a quick nap before heading to the concert. Luckily the Airbnb host allowed for an early check in! After the power nap, I got on my Uber app and requested a ride to the show. I would recommend getting there early as there was an extremely long line to get through the gate. After my ticket was scanned I walked up the path to the venue. Wow, it was worth the wait! This place is so amazing and you really have to see it in person to get the full effect. There are no seats in the venue, just rows of stone benches that you sit on. I would also recommend finding your seats early because people tend to just sit wherever once the concert starts. There really is no bad seat in the place but, if you paid extra to be close, you will want to make sure you find your seats before the concert starts. I had a great time seeing Foster the People and Paramore here. It was an unforgettable experience.
The next days agenda consisted of visiting the Rockies. After a quick stop into the visitor's center to get a map, an employee recommended taking the drive on Old Fall River Road which is an 11 mile - one way road up the mountain that is only open from early July through September. The road is safe but very narrow and curved with quite a few switchbacks. Take your time and enjoy but also beware of wildlife that may be on your path. The road will take you approximately 11,800 feet above sea level with unique views of nature. Be sure to stop at Chasm Falls on your way up the road for a quick, scenic hike.
